Water-clear chalcedony bulbs [or hyalite?] on basalt. The colours come from hematite (black) and from clay minerals (orange) laying under the chalcedony. Size of picture 12 x 10 mm. Collected in 2005.
Picture width is 2,5mm; excellent crystals of chayesite. The oxidised rim of visually identical crystals was tentatively analyzed as merrihueite (see Lapis-Magazine 4/2002 Page 38/39).
