Small but gemmy Elbaite from an unusual locality for the specie, Kangaroo Island!

Flat, plate-like crystal of quartz var. cairngorm from the Dudley pegmatite. Crystal is 10cm across, and was probably originally attached to a vugh wall on the underside. Typical example of relatively unweathered pegmatite from the Dudley occurrence. Unusual as most of this pegmatite is extensively weathered and collapsed.
