Cassiterite veinlet showing the classic matrix found in the Whiteworks Lode when it was cut by the Wheal Maid Decline. There is considerable rich but poorly crystallised cassiterite on the rear face of the specimen, but this aspect displays the structure and texture of the lode exceptionally well.

Typical example of the tin mineralisation found in the Whiteworks stope showing the characteristic pale coloured banded matrix with roughly formed crystalline cassiterite of a somewhat resinous lustre.
