Uraninite (Var: Sooty Uraninite)

This was a large chunk of slate country rock with a coating of pitchblende dug out of the dump at the adit entrance. It was broken down to get it into the contianer to get it home. the Geiger counter is reading about 1000 counts / second. For scale the counter is about 7 inches long.
