Rail Track
Sheeprock Mine, Newton Mining District, Beaver County, Utah, USAThis rail is coming straight out of the side of the opening. It's a good 15 feet above ground level. Clearly there was an opening there at one time.

Underground Entrance
Sheeprock Mine, Newton Mining District, Beaver County, Utah, USAPartially collapsed entrance in the second cut. It's much smaller and this is at the top.
I found iron-staoined quartz clusters to 1/2 an inch long. Some have a smoky core. Massive pale amethyst chunks are littered around the dump. Some have fortification patterns. Good lapidary material.
