AG3-92VLemanskiite NaCaCu5(AsO4)4Cl·3H2O , Lammerite Cu3(AsO4)2

02881170015795708971073.jpg
Abundancia Mine, Guanaco, Santa Catalina, Antofagasta Province, Antofagasta, Chile

Field of View: 1.63 mm

Blue lemanskiite crystals with green lammerite from Abundancia Mine, Guanaco, Santa Catalina, Antofagasta Prov., Antofagasta Region, Chile

I got this tiny chip or rock (10 x 6 x 4 mm) from the sales cabinets in the micro room at Tucson in 2016, labeled as lavendulan but the crystals are the correct form for the dimorph lemanskiite and that is what mindat currently shows for the locality, so I'm going with that ID.

Getchell Mine, Adam Peak, Potosi Mining District, Osgood Mountains, Humboldt Co., Nevada, USA

Field of View: 1.84 mm

In 2018, I posted photos of Galkhaite from Getchell Mine and they were gemmy and pretty, but mostly hidden in matrix. At the Nov. 2019 Northwest Micro-Mineral Study Group I picked up more of this material and found some relatively large crystals and clusters standing out nicely. These aren't as gemmy and most have cracks like this one, but I think the surface texture is really fun, with diagonal striations showing that it is indeed an isometric crystal. Make this photo full screen to see that.

Blue Bell Mine, Zzyzx, Soda Mountains, Silver Lake Mining District, San Bernardino Co., California, USA

Field of View: 0.85 mm

Sprays of acicular yellow mimetite crystals perched on colorless fluorite octahedra. I'm not sure what the black matrix coating is.
These were found in the same pocket of the 2C adit as the plumbotsumite and TL plumbophyllite.

Georgine Mine, Candelaria Junction, Candelaria Mining District, Mineral Co., Nevada, USA

Field of View: 2.28 mm

Dolomite matrix with sprays of green annabergite crystals to 6 mm. Most of the crystals I found are banged up since this surface was exposed in the pit, but these are pretty good. Also on the specimen (but not in photo), sprays of colorless acicular crystals to 2 cm (presumably aragonite); coatings of an unknown white, botryoidal mineral; and minor opal.

Blue Jay Mine, Goodsprings Mining District, Spring Mountains, Clark Co., Nevada, USA

Field of View: .54 mm

Flat crystals of green namibite in dolomite matrix. Most of the namibite at this mine is contained within minute cracks in the massive dolomite, but once in a while you can find one that grew free crystals into a larger crack or small vug like this one.
