An amazing 5 pound Blue Shattuckite with lots of associations from the DR Congo. There are many pseudomorph crystals in this mix that started out as scalenohedral ( dog tooth ) Calcite crystals. Now as pseudomorphs they are commonly labeled Shattuckite psm Dioptase psm Calcite. The Cuprite is a grey color and the Calcite is ivory color with the Malachite being green.

Amazing Blue Shattuckite from The Congo. At almost two and a half pounds this is an uncommon and large pseudomorph specimen from The Tantara Mine that shows well from any angle. There are many pseudomorph crystals in this mix that started out as scalenohedral ( dog tooth ) Calcite crystals. Now as pseudomorphs they are commonly labeled Shattuckite psm Dioptase psm Calcite. Most of the pseudomorph crystals are subtle and I had fun searching for them while examining the specimen. In addition to all of the cool pseudo-morphology going on here there are stunning Shattuckite crystals. They are very clean with stunning radial growth acicular crystals.
