WHJ-3UYOpal SiO2·nH2O , Quartz SiO2
Luserna Stone Quarries, Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, ItalyField of View: 3.3 mm
I had preserved this sample due to the presence of some Xenotime-(Y) crystals; this morning, observing it more carefully under the microscope, in addition to the xenotime, which is all in all banal, I noticed this curious bubble of Opal (Var. Hyalte) grown on the top of a quartz crystal.
Sample personally collected in the Rocche Alte Nord quarry, Rorà, Torino province, Piedmont, Italy
