Rhombic calcite overgrowths on complex scalenohedrons shows less red-orange fluorescence than the cores. Medium-wave UV light, response is similar under SW and LW UV but fainter.

Glassy, colorless datolite crystals with black bitumen, the latter migrated up through the basalt as crude oil matured in the underlying black lacustrian shales of the Shuttle Meadow Formation. Some became trapped in vesicles and fault zones. I've only seen it associated with datolite in a couple of other places. Former Bentley collection.
