89C-HYTSchist
Solukhumbu District, P1 Koshi Pradesh, NepalDimensions: 15 cm x 6 cm x 2 cm
A specimen of what I believe to be schist collected by Dr. Puwei Liu during a mountain-climbing expedition, circa 2017. Puwei was an experienced mountain climber, friend, former colleague, outstanding polymer chemist and family man. Sadly, he passed away on 5-13-21 from exposure while descending Mt. Everest. This has become a priceless specimen (to me at least). The coordinates of the locality where this was collected are N 27deg 51.096, E 086deg 59.441
