High-end Collector Mineral Specimens
High-end mineral specimens can mean different things to different people, but our definition of a high-end mineral specimen is one that commands a high price because it is of particular aesthetic appeal, or because it is of an especially fine quality or from a classic or particularly noteworthy location.
High-end mineral dealers typically sell stock from new worldwide mineral finds alongside stock purchased from previous collectors - many high-end mineral specimens carry the 'pedigree' of previous collector's labels, and in general these add to the value and desirability of a piece.
All reputable dealers in high-end mineral specimens should make sure they adhere to certain rules: Items should be as described and customers should be able to return specimens they are not happy with for a refund. Any repaired or reconstructed specimens should be described as such with details of the repairs/reconstructions where necessary. Locations should be as accurate as possible without any deliberate or fradulent location information. Reputable high-end mineral dealers should not promote or allude to so-called "healing" abilities of their specimens.
