Munich Show 2015 - Preview

Last Updated: 29th Oct 2015

By Jolyon & Katya Ralph

The 2015 Munich Show officially opens tomorrow and I was in today to get a sneak preview of what's on offer. I did some quick photos of things that interested me.

Spirifer Minerals had some specimens of a new find of pyromorphite from the Moulay-bouazza area in Morocco.

They also had some djurleite - as solid solution with chalcocite from Bou Azzer, Morocco.

Crystal Classics had a number of new European classics, including this amazing kermesite from Pezinok, Slovakia

They also had this great charoite vase.

This fabulous Peruvian fluorite on pyrite was offered by Saphira Minerals.

More fluorite, but this time from the UK - from the Greenlaws Mine project. These yellow and purple pieces were found within about a meter of each other in recent digging.

More UK fluorite, but this time some absolutely stunning pieces from the 1930s from the Rotherhope Fell mine. From Wendel Minerals

Russian Minerals had some new azurite nodules from a new locality near Chelyabinsk.

Finally, Kugler-Mineralien had some very interesting specimens of 50 million year old amber in matrix from Gablitz, near Vienna, Austria.

Back to the show tomorrow - don't forget tomorrow (Friday 30th) is the Mindat.org 15th Birthday Party at the Spirifer booth at the show. Please join us!

Jolyon - thanks for the honourable mention of the Greenlaws bits - you could also mention that thanks to the Wendels, the other wonderful Rotherhope Fell specimen has now been repatriated to the UK and is sitting in my cabinets in Shropshire!

Good show had by all - really successful!
