“Unpolished chunk of light blue “larimar” pectolite about 6.5 in length with a 2.5 cm long seam of sharp but tiny native copper crystals. Not the top color for larimar at this locality, but the copper is the star of this piece.
Don Windeler collection, acquired 2017 from Alfredo Petrov. I'd asked Alfredo a few times over the years to watch for one of these larimar specimens with more than specks of native copper. He finally got one through a gem dealer who visited the Dominican Republic regularly, trading a terminated Bolivian ametrine crystal for it. Definitely a box checked on my copper want list -- thanks, Alfredo!”
