“4.1 x 3.0 x 2.0 cm. A fine miniature of sharp, lustrous, metallic-gray, trigonal gratonite crystals from the 1400 Level, Excelsior Mine, Cerro de Pasco, Peru - the Type Locality. Composed almost entirely of crystals that reach 3 mm, the richness of the specimen is excellent. The definition of the gratonite crystals is especially striking. Gratonite is a rare lead, arsenic sulfosalt, and this piece must easily be 100 years old as most were found in the late 1800s. Formerly in the Bob Jones Collection. Tim Blackwood Collection.
