One of the best monohydrocalcites from my new find in 2016 in Špania Dolina deposit. Maximum size of crystals on the samples found is up to 40 mm! These are the largest xls of MHC in the world. Also interesting is the green colour of monohydrocalcites from Špania Dolina that is caused by content of copper (up to 0.01 apfu). Identified in Slovak Academy of Sciences using WDS, RTG difraction and Raman analysis. Vaterite with calcite and aragonite are white powdery paramorphoses on or within MHC xls. See also child photos. Photo and collection: Martin Patus.
