The Iroquois Mine on the Iroquois Lode mined copper from one of the last discovered and smallest lodes in Copper Country. The mine opened around World War II and operated until 1968 (MINDAT). Specimens from here are relatively uncommon compared to other famous area mines. Lustrous, translucent mint-green prehnite botryoids line connected vugs on the front and back of the sbasalt matrix. Patches of tiny, sparkly, gemmy olive-green epidote crystals and scattered small sharp copper crystals are typical associations on this small cabinet combination from the Ben Vone Collection. The piece was collected from the dumps in 1979.
