This is one of the amygdaloidal agates that were discovered in 2000 and 2001 where some of the bands were filled by native copper. The specimen is from the Wolverine No. 2 Shaft near Kearsarge in Houghton County. In all, about 60 of these copper included agates were recovered from the waste rock pile at No. 2. The specimen measures approx. 2.2 cm across. While it is difficult to see in the photo, the copper has replaced the agate bands in the upper left and lower right corners of the specimen.
