“15.3 x 13.0 x 9.8 cm. A rare, impressive, large massive compound pyrite crystal specimen from the historic and still active gold, silver and copper mines around the city of Cananea. The dramatic mounded piece is composed of a striking myriad of large and small splendent metallic crystals. The fantastic small stepped-growth crystals in the center are flanked by imposing large well-striated crystals on either side, to 8.5 cm, and the patches of embedded calcite crystals are a fine accessory. This is a remarkable, very rare large pyrite from Cananea. Very hefty at 9.0 pounds or 4.1 kilograms. Old material from an old Mexico collection we got into.
