1.3 x 1.1 x 0.7 cm. This is a fine rhodochrosite for Cananea, as crystals of this size and quality were never plentiful from this locality. Reminiscent of N'Chwaning rhodochrosites with its superior luster, gemminess, and deep red color, the crystal also has an unusual, flattened habit, with minor matrix. Cananea rhodochrosites this good are simply hard to find, as evidenced by the provenance of having been in the Irv Brown and William S. Logan collections (and includes one of his superb labels). Stunning in person.
