If the original label and ID is correct, a Mindat photo reviewer noted that the "specimen has been cleaned in an inappropriate manner. The ankerite has only a very thin orange weathering zone at its surface, which rapidly disappears upon short-time contact with citric acid, iron out etc. These specimens are not naturally found on white ankerite."”
