I am quite excited by this photo for several reasons, because it is something I have collected myself, because it is a relatively uncommon mineral and also the photo is just my 2nd attempt of microphotography and I dont think it is to bad considering its my first microscope which I have had for a little over 2 weeks!

The image was obtained simply holding the camera (Canon Powershot A640) up to the eyepiece and taking a photo, after selecting manual mode and choosing the highest F stop my camera has (F8.0) and an exposure time of 1/250 seconds with ISO 80.

The connelite has been identified based on its habit and locality.

The pale green mineral is scorodite and the metallic silvery grey mineral is likely to be stannite, or mixture of stannite and lollingite.

It was the stannite that initially caught my eye, the particular specimen interested me as it has a vein of muscovite mica on the top, It was only when I looked closer with my 10x loupe I noticed a small 4mm patch containing tiny blue crystals. I have also just found it has a little bit of cassiterite, including a tiny but well formed crystal.
