Leake et al.(1986) redescivered the winchite described by Fermor, see winchite (of Fermor) in the core of a nearly pure 0.3 mm crystal with microcline, diopside, plagioclase and apatite in a 3 mm thick layer in Mn-ore rock, (Leake et al. (1986), Sample T2). Leake et al. (1986) publish five microprobe analyses from this crystal; three analyses of subcalcic tremolites nearer to the periphery of the crystal and two analyses corresponding to ferri-winchite near the core: (Na0.21K0.10)0.31(Na0.73Ca1.27)2.00(Mg4.26Mn2+0.08Fe3+0.55Al0.09)5.00(Si7.78Al0.22)8.00O22(OH)2
