About Tremolite Jade
A variety of Nephrite
A generic term, referring to all varieties of nephrite which consist mainly of tremolite. While all white jades are tremolite jades, not all tremolite jades are white. Hetian Jade, Manasi Jade and Meiling Jade, which are typical representatives of tremolite jades, come in a variety of colours that are caused by inclusions of impurities. Hetian Jade can be white, yellow, bluish or black, and Manasi Jade is typically pale green, but they all mainly consist of tremolite with only traces of actinolite present.
