Field CollectingMonmouth township

Where is Monmouth Township,Haliburton Co.,Ontario,Canada.

On Google Hearh there are very,very small village but not have Monmouth.

OK,but there is Tory Hill with only 87 people and other super very small village.

It would be nice if google showed townships but I can imagine that would create a lot of work especially since township boundaries and county boundaries often change. Also showing a boundary is a lot more difficult then a point such as the centre of a village.

Which collecting site or locality are you trying to access or visit. Monmouth Township also has Tory Hill in the vicinity and some of the collecting sites/localities are near Tory Hill. Titanite Hill is on the intersection to the left from the Tory Hill sign and turning left again at the first turn and the Saranac Mine dump is at the old Garbage Dump (open from what I was told till about 8pm). There is a polite gentleman guarding/watching the garbage dump you can ask for directions to Saranac mine. To get to Saranac mine from Tory Hill keep driving straight until you see a large gate and notices about the Garbage Dump.

Those are some of the most immediate localities/sites near Tory Hill and Monmouth Township. Bear Lake is also there but farther away than Titanite Hill. These directions may not be exact as these are based of recollection/memory from my latest visit there in June. I believe there are other sites near Monmouth Township and I would recommend you check with Sabina's Parry Sound to Bancroft Guide or Bancroft's August 2013 Collecting guide.

I have never heard of a titanite hill before. Where is that at? If I think of your directions it is the gibson road area?

Titanite Hill is referred to as Millars Mine in Sabina's Parry Sound to Bancroft Guide. It is the one near the lake when you turn left on the sign to Tory Hill and left on the first intersection. The road heavily deteriorates eventually and was very tricky to navigate past a certain point. I didn't collect there because the directions were vague and because there was tons of mosquitoes and also other sites to visit.

The directions are pretty vague according to sabina. I have seen perons collecting somewhere on the right side of the road. I don't know where. I've gone on the left side of the road. In the past i've got some neat smoky amphibole crystals and occasional apatite. after dissolving calcite from some amphibole/calcite pieces I saw some had black cubes of something I assume to be uraninite.
