Planning a trip in May to New Mexico. Hopefully, although it's a business trip, there will be a little time to collect, as the hotel will be right near Rockhound State Park. Any advice from locals?

Pete, what do you like to collect?? Micros, lapidary rough, cabinet, thumbnail, mineral, etc.


I live in Organ, NM....~12miles East of Las Cruces and ~ 70 miles East of Deming (Rockhound State Park)

Thanks for the reply. As a beginning collector, I'll take anything other than micros, especially if it's not something we have around New Hampshire. Not really set up for micros here.

Pete, email me at auagte2@comcast.net. I'll try to get you headed to some fluorite, carnelian, pyrolusite, etc. Pick up a good road atlas of New Mexico for reference. Will you be staying in Deming, Silver City, Las Cruces.....?
