Identity HelpGeothite pseudomorph (?)

Hi all,


I know my photos in the past have been sub par but here is to better days. Still a touch blurry but I know what the mineral is. It is geothite in basalt amygdules I collected near Spokane Washington. I saw tons of material like this but only had room for one sample amongst the others I collected. The geothite forms these little rounded triangular almost tetrahedral crystals (~1 to 2mm long). There are also crystals (probably not clear in this pic my camera macro is only so good...) which look almost like a bowtie that have the two triangles perpendicular to one another. I think this is a pseudo of some mineral but not sure what. I though magnetite first due to the triangles, but not sure after seeing the little bowties. The other geothite samples I found were typically ball shaped or coatings of bubbly stuff.

There is a form of Siderite known as Bow-Tie Siderite, so these could be the source of your bow-tie morphs?
