Long (5 km) and thick subvertical vein structure related genetically to a Lower Miocene quartz monzonite intrusion, within Tertiary andesite host rocks.
The andesite is affected by a propylitic alteration (quartz, chlorite, epidote, sericite, pyrite, chalcopyrite).
Three mineralization phases are known :
1) Early HT sphalerite, associated with Ag-sulfosalts and native silver
2) Arsenopyrite + lower-T sphalerite
3) Late stibnite and cinnabar
Low salinity meteoritic waters, of decreaing temperature (350-150 °C), circulating in a convective cell in relation with a thermic anomaly (intrusion), have remobilized metals from host rocks or VMS lenses.
