Ancient copper-silver mining area; main activity in the 16th and 17th century. The workings were abandoned in 1774; later activities in the 19th and 20th centuries proved unsuccessful.
Strongly overgrown dumps NW of Oberndorf.
Located SW of Fieberbrunn and about 9 km north of Kitzbühel.
About 600 shafts are known. One of them, the Heiliggeist shaft ('Heiliggeistschacht') reached, in 1618, an impressive depth of 504 'Klafter' (= 886 m).
