Located on the north shore of Lake Superior the Coldwell complex is the largest alkaline complex in North America, with an approximate area of 1500 km².
Coordinates are for the outcrop photos along Highway 17 shown. This zircon http://www.mindat.org/photo-476919.html was found about 400m east of this location in an old abandoned road cut parallel and north of the new highway.
