Multiple parallel quartz veins in gneisses and migmatites.
Located on right bank of Riou du Claï brook.
A very old mine, exploited between 1871 and 1877, and in 1901-1902.
"2 km further north [of Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée] on the right, near a small waterfall, there is an old mine near the 'Ru du Claï' with arsenopyrite, bismuthinite, calcite, cerussite, chrysotile (a variety of serpentine), galena, malachite, molybdenite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, and quartz." [Belot, 1978]
