Uranium ore prospects, excavated by Somiren in the period 1957-1963 on the western slope of Monte Toff (Monte Tov) (2050 m), within the lower part of the stratigraphic sequence of the Permian Val Gardena Sandstone Formation (Arenarie della Val Gardena). The uranium mineralisation is confined to the grey sandstone series that contains dispersed organic matter and anthracite aggregates. Prospecting in this area definitively ended in 1978.
The most important galleries were excavated at Palastro 1 (1305-1320 m a.s.l.); other galleries were excavated between 1260 and 1350 m a.s.l. at Pertiche, Casinelle, Pranebli, Palastro 2, Palastro 3, Palastro 4, Mozzoli, and Pradei.
