The mine is just west of the Bluebird processing plant.

The ore body is fine grained talc-carbonate-chlorite, with minor magnetite and pyrite. Fuchsite, feldspar and chert is found in the shear zone, while in the margins gold is associated with hematite after pyrite above 150 metres, with pyrite below. Hematite or pyrite makes-up 5 to 20% in total of the rock.

There is a 40 metres wide vertical shear zone in altered ultramafic rock. The shear zone contains highly altered bleached rocks, transected by a stockwork of quartz veins. Gold is found right across the shear zone, but is highest in two marginal zones near the Hanging and Footwalls, with the least amount of gold in the centre of the structure.
