The White's deposit was mined by open cut methods to a depth of 112 metres. The orebody was about 150 m long and 25 m thick, and some of the mineralization persists to depths beyond 300m. White's orebody is a steeply dipping layered deposit. The various layers are, in order from north to south: the uranium-copper zone (up to 18 m wide), the copper-cobalt zone (up to 3 m wide) , the cobalt-nickel zone(up to 3 m wide) and the lead-cobalt zone (up to 5 m wide). The uranium-copper zone had a narrow oxidised capping containing various yellow and green uranium ochres and secondary copper minerals. The minerals are usually powdery and fine grained, but coarse flakes were not uncommon. Uraninite the primary ore was first noted 9 metres below the surface and was predominantly fine sooty spherules coating/filling veinlets in bedding, cleavage and joint planes.
