There has been a delay on box 3, it has been returned to me, as part of you address has been destroyed along the way.
I'm not sure what they did to the box in order to to do it though???
It has been re-boxed and is back on it's way to Horst.
Cheers Mark

I once sent a small box to the USA, and my friend used the same box to send stuff back,
so this box had gone over the atlantic twice. It came back to me looking like a soccer ball,
with no corners left at all!
I really don't know what they do with these sometimes!
In the postoffice here, I give my box to this guy, with 3 stickers saying 'fragile' on it, and he
tosses it in this huge box 3 meters away from him...
Oh well...

I strongly suggest packing anything you are concerned about with the "box in box" method. That is, pack the mineral just as you normally would for shipping. THEN, pack that box into another larger box with packing material (paper, foam, popcorn, bubblewrap, etc.) between all sides, top and bottom of the two boxes. If the inner box is heavy, use firmer packing and a larger outer box. We have received things packed this way where the outer box is virtually smashed into a ball and the inner box was untouched. Of course, if the mineral is truly fragile, it needs to be adequately supported to protect it from the shock of sudden stops when the box lands!
Hope these suggestions help with your future shipping ventures.

Well the box is back on it's way, this time instead of being just boxed, it's boxed and then inside a 'tough' envelope, which itself is quite hard to break open, and the address is not on a label sticker, but actually written on envelope so they can't loose part of it!...lol

I received the parcel from Horst last week, I took out three pieces (all 8 were from Tsumeb) and replaced them with three Canadian specimens from the Francon quarry in Montreal. I plan to post the parcel today or tomorrow to Jacques in France.

"we win..we win...!" lol
Oh hang on, it wasn't a race was it?
Can you guess, I'm in a happy mood!
Box 3 made it's return to me today after nearly 4 months of travelling the globe.
The specimens I received appear to come from 3 different collectors and I must say that that are all quite nice.
I look forward to doing this all again soon. If you all want to do this again just let me know, we'll re-arrange the list so we all send to different people. I know there is talk of all the boxes doing the trip again, let's hope so!
I'll post again soon, hopefuly with some photos to go with it all.
Cheers Mark

Like I said in the mail, Mark, I will reinvite people soon. And of course I will reshuffle the groups.
Still with the fact in mind I would like to keep the groups as international as possible.
Cheers,
Eddy
