It was my understanding that all the Wodginites from this occurrence are epitaxys. However, I just looked back over Minrec vol. 9 no. 1 p.14-18, and now I'm not so sure with your specimen, or with my specimen, both of which came from the same lot. Perhaps they are primary crystals. I'll be curious as to other's thoughts.

Just thought of something else- both of these specimens came from Schlichter. Check your data card, but I'm pretty sure he noted that he got these labeled with a different locality and changed the label to Jabuti based on the Minrec article. I wonder if he wasn't mistaken

The Schlicter card says Corrego do Urucum, but says to look at the back which notes Mineralogical record and Smithsonian. He obtained the specimen from Carlos Barbosa with only a thumbnail label saying Galileia. Wodginite is not listed at the Corrego do Urucum, maybe it's from Linopolis. Unfortunately, both of these great collectors are in that great pegmatite in the sky. Anyhow the specimen is awesome and I love it!

"Lastly, Carlos Barbosa has obtained more interesting specimens from Linopolis, in Minas Gerais. Among these are wodginite in lustrous black crystals up to 1 cm"
also
Ercit et al in Can Min. 1992, p. 614 lists, apart from Lavra Jabuti, also Alto do Giz and Seridozinho, Parabaiba as Brazilian wodginite localities.
Van King might be of further help, and for sure Luiz Menezes
cheers
