Hi all!

I seem to have the honour and the pleasure to start the talk page about this great locality!

I am interested in everything concerning the Clara Mine! Please let us know

about your finds, or about new (and old) publications. Or post a list of your

Clara collection and/or your swaplists! I know there are plenty of Clara

collectors out there! Let's use this great feature to get to know each other!

Hi Eddy,

an article describing 10 species new for the Clara mine has been submitted to Lapis magazine. A good number of them was found on the new dumps.

Cheers, Uwe

What?? ::o

Only 10 new species??? Unbelievable, Uwe! Thanks for sharing the news!

You just got to love this place!

Can you already be more specific? Some phosphates included no doubt? (:D

Looking forward to seeing the article!!! Congratulations on the find!

hello, i noticed that you have Autunite with a ? next to it... and you have no question mark next to Meta-Autunite. since it has not been found, doesn't mean its not at that locality. its a meta variety of autunite which means it probably has autunite at the locality.

sorry, its just a mess up that i noticed...

There is no mess-up. Both autunite and meta-autunite are distinct species. Considering meta-autunite as a variety of autunite is wrong.

May I offer some images of ClarabMine material I obtained at the CMMA Symposium, Ste. Catharines, Ontario, Canada in May 2012. I am quite new to the Clara locality and there are so many photos in the Mindat gallery. Please comment onnthe ID of thenyellow sprays and also the pale yellow spheres in the last photo.

Is there agradite-(Y) at the Clara? Or is it all agardite-(Ce)?

Thanks!

Steve Stuart

Two more images of Clara Mine material that I cannot identify. The first photo looks like a garnet of some kind, but it also resembles kintoreite.

The second looks like a sulphide or sulfosalt. Perhaps the triangular habit is distinctive!

The first three could be partially altered (oxidised) agardite or malachite.

The brown xls could be a thick tabular member of the alunite family.

The sulphide might be secondary chalcocite.

Due to a bug, babánekite cannot be added at the moment.

The reference has been added to the locality page, however.

We were very proud to have Prof. Dr. Gregor Markl with us (Kring Zwarte Woud Nederland) on 1 april 2017.

The subject was about "Uran Minerals from Wittichen, Krunkelbach and Menzenschwand".

It was highly interesting with beautiful pictures of minerals.

The most pictures of the (micro)minerals were from Matthias Rheinhard and he was also there.

We hope that it is possible to invite Prof. Markl in the futere to the Netherlands.
