Hi to everybody!
On last April 19th, 20th and 21st the Euromineralexpo came to Milan for the first time! It's the same event which takes place every year in Bologna, Turin and Florence!
Here you are some photos I made there.
On last April 19th, 20th and 21st the Euromineralexpo came to Milan for the first time! It's the same event which takes place every year in Bologna, Turin and Florence!
Here you are some photos I made there.
The Madonnina, Our Beautiful Lady! It is our symbol and ALL the buildings within the municipality of Milan MUST be lower than Her!
The Piazza Mercanti Arcade! It is built so that business-men could exchange secret information about the market by speaking in a corner and listening from the opposite one!
Some friends of mine, Alessio and his mother Nuccia, 85 years old! She had been working in a jewellery for many years and knows many stone cutters!
A pupil of mine, Alona, together with her son, Bogdan, 7 years old! He is starting to be a mineral collector, and mineralogy needs young people! They are from Ukraine, but have been living in Italy for 11 years!
Rama, 6 years old, together with his father Roberto! Roberto was an university-friend of mine some 30 years ago, and Rama is more and more improving his skillness in recognising minerals and crystals! He already has a more than 100 pieces collection!
Gaetano Di Dio showing his wonderful Sicilian minerals! He has a wide knowledge about mines and quarries in his island!
Francesco Vanini, from Varese, Lombardy! He is very fond of Lombard minerals and knows all of the mines and quarries in Lombardy very well!
Fluorite, from the province Bergamo! The international airport Orio Al Serio is located in this province!
Nice tanzanite crystals! According to the exhibitor they weren't heated and their colour is completely natural!
Green vivianite, from Romania (or from Brazil? A Romanian dealer was selling it)! The colour is very deep!
A big big ammonite! Differently from many other ones, this one is displayed almost in its life position!
Rhodochrosite? Mmmmhhhh...! For sure the composition with tourmaline crystals just behind is an artifact!
