One small correction. The "Canadian Spessartine" in your photos is a champagne colored grossular from the Jeffrey Mine. I don't think spessartine occurs there.

Just curious, were any of the Sardinian barite specimens from Giorgio Spiga's collection?

27th Apr 2024 03:48 UTCHerwig Pelckmans

Green vivianite, from Romania!

Most likely sold by a Romanian, but originating from Brazil. Some dealers really don't care and try selling their stuff without any labels, as can be seen in the photo.

Please consider not buying from such dealers, and supporting those who do take the time and effort to have all their specimens accurately labelled!

Hi to everybody!
Ok, a distinction between grossular and spessartine is somewhat difficult even for gemmologists. As you can see, it was labelled as "garnet".
Vivianite: I already bought some crystals, because of the colour and form. Thank you for having noticed the likely mistake! They were truly sold by a Romanian exhibitor and he declared me they come from Romania. However, a full disclosure and label accuracy are important to me too!
Last but not least, I have a curiosity: who added the photo of the "wolframite group from the UK"? You can find it among the quartzes!
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

Riccardo,
I would surmise that since the Wolframite Group specimen from Brandy Gill Mine is photograph #1369224 and the preceding photograph in your article is #1369223 (Quartz with mica, from Switzerland!) and the photograph after the intruder is #1369225 (Beautiful quartz crystal group, from the Canton Bern, Switzerland!), it is likely that you erroneously included it when the article was being first written in the article editor! You can remove it yourself if you wish to by clicking (when logged in) the ‘Edit this Article’ on the article page itself, or in ‘My Articles’ from your home page by selecting the ‘Published Article’ you wish to edit.
Best regards,

Thank you for sharing your photo's, Riccardo! Lovely.
Do you say Cullinam diamond in Italian instead of Cullinan? Seems a bit weird?
I might visit next year!

27th Apr 2024 16:03 UTCRiccardo Modanesi

Hi to everybody, hi Eddy! I think the label "Cullinam" with M as a final letter is wrong, then. I just wrote what was written there. If you tell me the right spelling is with N as a final letter, I can change it!
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

27th Apr 2024 17:38 UTCRiccardo Modanesi

Ok, I changed it and what I had to change. If you all find somrthing wrong more, please let me know.
Greetings by Riccardo.
